HOST A DRIVE
Churches, organizations, and community groups often ask: how can we help? Host a drive for shoes or food. We will provide the red bins and signage to get you started. When your drive is finished, we invite you and your group to volunteer together, sorting your donations and doing other critical work inside our facility.
Or make a bigger impact and host a Give Change, Change Lives coin drive! If you are willing to coordinate a drive at your gym, workplace, club meeting, civic group or church, please let us know.
BUILD MEAL BAGS
Are you hungry for a bigger project? Gather specific food items to fill meal bags that include all the ingredients needed for a family to make a home-cooked meal. Attach the corresponding recipe cards and place everything in clear plastic bags. We will distribute your meal bags through our pantry, making meal planning a cinch for those we serve.
Some of the meal kits we have distributed in the past include:
7 can taco soup
chicken noodle soup
tuna noodle casserole
BUILD BLESSING BAGS
Get creative! The families we serve receive a weeks' worth of food through our food pantry during a time when they are facing financial hardship. Let's brighten their day by providing mini blessing bags that will be given to them, along with their food order, as a special surprise. All kit items should be new. Bring the items in individual baggies.
Here are some kit ideas (but you can build your own):
CHRISTMAS: candy canes, holiday bookmark, Advent devotional, hand-written Christmas card, cookie cutter
CHILDREN: small toy, candy, coloring book, bubbles
CLEANING: Dish cloth, dish soap, sponge, household cleaner
TOILETRIES: Toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, bar of soap
COOKING: Oven mitts, brownie mix, measuring spoons, pot holder
COVID-19 theme: Hand sanitizer, toilet paper, household cleaner, pocket tissues
