THRIVE is powered by a team of 215 weekly volunteers who provide all of our services. In 2023, they clocked 17,000 hours. Volunteers are truly the backbone or our organization. SPANISH SPEAKERING VOLUNTEERS
Needed to assist in the Food Pantry and Admin Support
FINANCIAL COACHES
To become a THRIVE financial coach, you must take the 20-hour Master Financial Educator Volunteer training through the Virginia Cooperative Extension office. If you are interested in learning more, please fill out a volunteer application, and we will schedule you to shadow a current financial coaching session before class enrollment. SUMMER VOLUNTEERS
Many of our regular team members go on vacation during the summer. We are seeking substitutes that can volunteer during the day and pick up shifts, based on your schedule and availability. Minimum commitment: two 2-hour shifts per month.
LITERACY FOR LIFE TUTOR
THRIVE has begun a partnership with Literacy for Life (LFL) to offer ESL classes to our clients. We are looking for tutors who are willing to commit to 90 minutes twice per week, working one-on-one with a client. A five-hour training program is provided by LFL.
