Benefits assistance - help people apply for food stamps, social security, TANF or Medicaid

We Cook Wednesdays - in partnership with the Virginia Cooperative Extension, healthy cooking demos are available in the lobby on Wednesdays to encourage building visitors and shoppers to eat and cook healthy.

1-on-1 help with a personal job coach who can help build a resume, hone interviewing skills, and land the job

Legal Connect - obtain a will, power of attorney or advanced medical directive through our partnership with Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia

Resource Concierge Volunteers - stationed in our lobby, these trained volunteers can help people navigate available resources from other agencies who provide shelter, clothing, furniture, medical assistance, employment, and more

Workshops and Classes

THRIVE's building hosts The Blocker Room, a 50-seat conference room that aims to host workshops and classes in partnership with a variety of local agencies and community partners. Classes will span three categories:

Financial Literacy: improving your credit score, 1st time home buying, budgeting, etc.

Healthy Living: cooking classes, cooking demos, Medicaid programs, pre-diabetes healthy living, etc.

Workforce Development: connect to hiring managers, build a resume, practice interviewing, etc.
