💛ABOUT THE FUND
The City of Newport News and THRIVE Peninsula are joining forces through the Community Resilience Fund to help stabilize city residents through their time of hardship.
At THRIVE Peninsula, we are honored to serve as the managing partner of the Community Resilience Fund, a permanent support program designed to provide one-time financial assistance to Newport News households experiencing unexpected financial challenges.
This fund is especially focused on supporting ALICE households (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) and other residents who are working hard but struggling to make ends meet due to emergencies like loss of income, medical bills, or other unforeseen expenses.
🛒HOW IT WORKS
Eligible Newport News residents can apply online for assistance. As part of the application process, each household will receive:

A one-on-one resource and coaching session to help build long-term financial stability

An automatic invitation to shop at The Market at THRIVE, where families can receive a week’s worth of groceries
